Post-Op Coverage for Physiotherapy
Some provinces provide limited funding for physiotherapy after an operation.
By the time a surgery takes place, there is usually an accumulation of years of muscular dysfunction and mobility issues that do not totally go back to normal after an operation. Many surgeries result in soft tissue trauma that create pain, discomfort and mobility issues after the operation is complete. To get back in action as soon as possible and to prevent further decline, physiotherapy is usually recommended after most procedures.
Unfortunately, Physio Roots does not have post-op rehab information specific to each province at this time. Most surgical offices make people aware of this coverage; however, this is not always the case! Double check with your healthcare provider before (or after) your surgery to see if you qualify.
