How do I pay for physiotherapy?

In Canada, physiotherapy (for the most part) is not covered by the healthcare system. Depending on which province and/or territory you live in, there may be some circumstances where physiotherapy is at least partially covered.

Private healthcare benefits / insurance usually include some sort of funding for physiotherapy. Motor vehicle accident and workplace insurance can also provide funding for physiotherapy, but rules are different in every province/territory.

Physio Roots has provided some basic articles explaining funding for physiotherapy outside of private healthcare insurance. We hope to expand on these articles in the near future, but because many of the rules are governed provincially it is difficult to provide consistently accurate information.
